Dr Faheem Latheef

Dr Faheem Latheef is an internationally recognised award winning Consultant Dermatologist based in Leeds but who also consults in Dubai on a visiting basis. He was recently awarded best consultant dermatologist 2020-21 in two separate private healthcare awards and is the preferred Dermatologist for a number of high profile celebrities, corporates and well known sports teams in addition to seeing international patients from various parts of the world who fly in to Leeds.

He holds the post of Consultant Dermatologist and Allergy specialist at the Leeds Centre for Dermatology, at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Europe's largest teaching hospital, recognised as an international centre of excellence for Cutaneous Allergy as well as conditions such as skin cancer, Acne and Rosacea. He is also a Lead Clinician in the Department as well as being an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds and is actively involved in teaching and supervision of medical students and junior doctors in training.

Having completed his research degree (MD) in melanoma skin cancer and having worked in a dedicated melanoma clinic and as a core member of the skin cancer MDT in Leeds, Dr Latheef has extensive experience in the early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of all types of skin cancer including Melanoma.

On top of his wide-ranging skills in dermatology, Dr Latheef has a special interest in skin allergy. This type of allergy relates more to things that go in contact with the skin, rather than foods or consumables, for which they need to undergo a specialised form of allergy testing referred to as patch testing. Dr Latheef is able to offer very extensive patch testing from the centre of excellence at Leeds. Given the increasing use of cosmetics and personal care products, this type of allergy has greatly expanded over time and he was invited to be a visiting consultant at the Kings College London Hospital in Dubai, to set up a comprehensive patch testing service.

In his practice he sees both children and adults for a expansive variety of skin related conditions including running dedicated Acne, Skin Cancer, Skin Surgery and Allergy clinics as well as a General Dermatology clinic where he sees patients with conditions such as Eczema, Psoriasis, itching, Alopecia, excessive sweating (Hyperhydrosis), Keloid scars and Hidradenitis Suppurativa.

Aside from his NHS work as a Consultant Dermatologist and Allergy specialist at the Leeds Centre for Dermatology, at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Europe’s largest teaching hospital, recognised as an international centre of excellence for Cutaneous Allergy as well as conditions such as skin cancer, and Acne, he also holds weekly private clinics for children and adults at two of the largest private hospitals in the UK, at the Nuffield Health Hospital in the centre of Leeds as well as at the Spire Hospital in Roundhay, Leeds.
