Dad was diagnosed with Melanoma in 1985 when he was 26, following surgery, skin grafts and follow up treatment he thought that was the end of it, but in 2019 it spread and he had more surgery to remove the regional lymph nodes in his leg and a year of Targeted Gene Therapy. We started paddling with Cardiff Bay Kayakers towards the end of 2019, in Surfskis and K1s and he has since competed in several Oceanski races. This will be my first race in a double ski with Dad. We are currently waiting for his next CT scan results but anticipate that he will be starting more treatment shortly and we thought it was a good idea to make the most of the chance to travel from South Wales to Scotland and have an adventure together on Loch Ness and raise some money for MelanomaUK at the same time
