Could you be our campaign star?

Every year, we run a campaign that raises awareness of melanoma and the importance of checking your skin - this year is no different but it has a twist.

Our 2023 campaign focuses on melanoma & skin cancer warriors but we need your help!

We want to celebrate the rich and full lives that people like you lead – the person you are, and the things you enjoy doing with your loved ones - because you checked your skin.

We’re going to run a series of posts on social media highlighting some of these special moments, to encourage other people to think “that could be me” (or their loved ones to think “that could be my mum, my dad, my auntie, my best friend), so that they take action. The posts will look like the following examples:

Although we are launching this campaign for Melanoma & Skin Cancer Awareness month in May, this will be a feature for Melanoma UK throughout the year.  We would love to feature real people in these social media posts. We believe people at risk are more likely to pay attention if they see people just like them – actual, real people.

Can you help us?

  1. A selfie photo of you doing something you enjoy with your loved ones. It could be anything e.g. hiking, baking, playing a board game. What matters most is that we can see you doing it. It’s really important that the photo is taken by you, as we must have the photographer’s permission to use it.
  2. A sentence telling us your name, your relationship to the people in your picture, and what you’re doing together (e.g. Maria Smith, having a picnic with my grandchildren)
  3. Permission to use the photo in our campaign. Please complete the attached short consent form (click here to download) to confirm that you are happy for your photo and description to be used by us in this melanoma awareness campaign. The form must also be signed by anybody else who appears in the photo.

With your help, we can reach more people than ever this year with our vital message to be aware of melanoma risk.

Thank you for your support.
