TREATMENT OPTIONS

Factors considered before treatment

The specialist Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) at the hospital will take into account many factors when considering and advising you on the most suitable treatment, including:45

  • Depth of tumour
  • Stage of tumour
  • Whether the cancer has spread
  • BRAF test results
  • Overall health and lifestyle factors

Following the MDT meeting, your doctor will discuss your treatment options with you.

Your preference and lifestyle factors, such as travelling, work and having children, as well as the distance to your hospital and if you have family, friends or carer support should also be taken into consideration when choosing an appropriate treatment option.
