I was diagnosed with Stage 1b Melanoma in September 2020 at the age of 29. I found comfort in reading the support Melanoma UK offered and made me feel as though I belonged to a community and wasn’t in this alone. They were kind enough to share my story which has helped spread awareness of a disease which I believe is very much misunderstood. I would like to raise as much money for Melanoma UK to continue to be able to support those who are diagnosed, in all those many ways they do. I r
We see first hand the effects of melanoma and other skin cancers on a daily basis. More support and research is needed to help combat these conditions.
Most people are aware of the perils of cancer. Far fewer know more specifically about skin cancer (and how to reduce the chances of exposure etc.) and if doing this run for Melanoma UK raises awareness in addition to some cash then it cannot be a bad thing.
We both enjoy running for fun while at the same time fundraising and we’ve chosen Melanoma UK to raise money for Melanoma UK .
